Programme Structure
Four one-to-one sessions
Session 1: Building Foundations for Success
-
This session aims to help your child feel more prepared and positive about their new start. We'll work together on developing ways to present themselves confidently, exploring how to handle those crucial first interactions with both teachers and peers. They'll develop their own personalised strategy for approaching the first day with greater confidence.
Session 2: Social Skills and Relationships
-
This session focuses on helping your child feel more comfortable in social situations. We'll explore natural ways to join conversations, connect with like-minded peers, and build positive relationships with teachers. The goal is to help them feel more confident about finding their place in their new school community.
Session 3: Managing Change and Building Confidence
-
During this session, we'll work on developing tools to handle new challenges. Your child will learn practical ways to manage their new responsibilities, techniques to stay calmer under pressure, and strategies to help them bounce back from setbacks. The aim is to help them approach their new school life feeling more resilient and positive.
Session 4: Follow-up
-
Two weeks into term, this session provides valuable support when it matters most. We'll review how things are going, refine strategies based on real experiences, and address any concerns that have emerged. It's all about ensuring your child continues to feel supported as they settle into their new school.
